I-V-Y CHAMPS! Women's Golf Wins First Title!
Did You Know... that the Penn women's golf team won their first Ivy League Championship team title this past Sunday at the famed Baltusrol golf course in Springfield, New Jersey?
Prior to this weekend's achievement, Penn had finished fifth at the last three Ivy Championships and never higher than third since beginning competition at this event in 2000. None of that mattered on Sunday. Penn shot 307, the best team score in the seven-team field. The women finished the tournament at 929, which was well ahead of second-place Yale (951) and third-place Harvard (954).
"We never talked about winning the tournament, we just focused on our routine and stayed with our process," said second-year head coach Mark Anderson. "We just let things take their course, and it turned out well for us."
